February 28th Meeting

The theme of this Thursday's meeting is Understanding the Historical Geography of Fulford. We're happy to have Fulford resident and long-time southender, Barb Lyngard, as our special guest  to talk about the history of the Fulford community.

DRAFT AGENDA
  1. Adoption of the Agenda
  2. Adoption of the Minutes (February 18th, 2008)
  3. Review of Revised Terms of Reference
  4. Replacement of Study Group Board Members
  5. Proposed Study Group Meeting Format and Schedule
  6. Future of Fulford written submissions
  7. Formation of the Vision to Action Task Group
  8. Delegations
  9. Presentation - Barbara Lyngard
  10. Question and Answer Period
  11. Discussion of OCP issues related to this theme (e.g. heritage designation, boundaries...)
  12. Next Steps and Adjournment
At this meeting we ask -- "Where is Fulford? Where Should it be?" Some questions we hope to explore:
  • What are Fulford's historical roots?
  • How have shifts in human settlement changed (diminished/enhanced/broadened...) our appreciation of Fulford as a community?
  • What institutions and relationships link the Fulford and south end communities?
  • Does the Fulford community have an historical growth pattern?
  • What should be preserved and why?

Thanks John for the comfortable start to the Study Group meetings involving us as a community reference group. It was also a delight to hear from Barb, thank you Barb Lyngard.
I'm anxious to see a build up of sub-headings grow under the "Proposed Meeting Themes/Schedule".
Also in the interest of understanding where one another’s ideas and views are coming from I'm hoping to see (item 6. from the agenda) the “Future of Fulford written submissions”.
If I can be of any help, please don't hesitate.
